Since 1995 the Association for Town Marketing of Wetter ("Stadtmarketing fĂĽr Wetter e.V.") works for the presentation of the location Wetter and the systematic prestige advertising as well as for improving the attractiveness of the town of Wetter (Ruhr) for citizens of Wetter (Ruhr), citizens of the surrounding area as well as resident and interested companies. The association wants to contribute by ideological, material and / or financial support for appropriate events in cultural, sporting, economic, social and / or environmental fields. The association can also achieve these purposes by implementing appropriate procedures (eg. planning and guidance documents, publications and related services).

We show the beauties of our Harkort town.

Culture and hiking, guided tours and tours for children and families: Our Association for Wetter offers many opportunities to discover Wetter also in this year. In addition to the popular sightseeing tours (individual tours can also be arranged for birthdays or class meetings, for example), visitors can walk in the footsteps of the honorary citizen Gustav Vorsteher, , explore Ruhraue or hike on a sporting tour through the life of Friedrich Harkort (e.g. Freiheit and the manor Schede).

If you want to explore the boundaries of the city, the Schnadegang around Wetter is recommended. Guided tours of the town as well as guided tours by night are also part of our great program diversity. As a special trip we offer the Harkorttour by bus. This tour also marks the start of this year's city marketing season on 1 April. The Hattingen tour takes place on request.

After the successful premiere last year, there will again be some afternoon city tours in the afternoon (14 to 17 o'clock) with coffee and cake. For the regular tours (12 am to 3 pm) the participants can look forward to a lunch break.

Especially for families with children in the elementary school age, we offer the FamilyWetter. Who paid the town hall? Who is the "green man" at the corner of the town hall? Where was the prison? What about the castle in Wetter? Why is the Harkortturm in Wetter? These and many more exciting questions will be followed by the city leaders on this entertaining history journey for young and old. At the end, the participants can look forward to a quiz, which also has something to be won. This tour offers a high experience factor with many historical anecdotes in child-friendly language. By the way, if you are planning a "historic" childbirth day, you can also plan this historical tour individually with the city leaders.

That churches are not only god-houses, but also memorials of history, can be experienced on the guided tour ChurchWetter. We offer guided tours through the Protestant village church of Wengern, the Evangelical village church of Volmarstein, the Evangelical Reformed church in the Freiheit, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alt-Wetter (Ruhr Valley Cathedral) and the Catholic Church of St. Peter And Paul in Alt-Wetter.

If you like hiking, you can look forward to two new guided hikes this year. Interested people can experience the history of the local mining industry at the Schlebusch trail (Mining trail I). The hike Through the upper Elbschetal on fortified trails offers beautiful views of the Ennepe Ruhr Valley hiking area.

All the guided tours and hikes are guided by the approximately 20 volunteer city and hiking guides, who lead with great passion, great knowledge and many anecdotes through our beautiful Wetter:

"The entire board of the city marketing is very proud of his honorary staff and of our full-time employee, Ms. Huth. It is impressive to see what a great program all those involved have once again set up. This commitment will surely be respected far beyond the city boundaries."
Markus DrĂĽke

Of course, one or the other "new generation" is always welcome at this time. For those who would like to guide guests from Wetter and the region through our beautiful Harkort town, please get in touch with our information office.

Honorary card holders receive a 25 percent discount on a city tour ticket and a ticket to the New Year's Concert (January 14, 2018). The flyer of the annual program 2017 is available in all public buildings, in restaurants and petrol stations, and is of course also available in our information office in the Sparkasse building at KaiserstraĂźe 78.
