Oldtimer, childrens fun and relaxed shopping
If on Sunday 16 June, the vintage car meeting lures to Alt-Wetter, oldtimer friends get their money back. Lovers of purring engines and lovingly designed bodies can then stroll around the Bahnhofsplatz and the KaiserstraÃe through a piece of automotive history from 11 am to 6 pm.
The seventeenth vintage car meeting on 16 June will be open to duly registered and insured vehicles built until 1989, with motorcycles and tractors also welcome. For all participants, the retailer donates food vouchers at the reception (Bahnhofsplatz / BahnhofstraÃe 19), the first 100 motorists also receive a small surprise.
The vintage car with the longest arrival will be awarded on June 16 at 15 o'clock, the oldest vehicle at 16 o'clock. The winners will receive a trophy and a prize as a reminder. The event is supported by the FC Wetter. A jazz band provides for mood, for the physical well-being on the station place provide u.a. the FC Wetter, Bratwurst Smith, the Restaurant Orchidee, Aufermann`s CrÃªpes and Kerstins Svensk restaurang.
To further supply the visitors also takes place a Sunday on sale. The participating shops are open from 1pm to 6pm. The KaiserstraÃe area between the Ruhrtal Center and the Friedrichstrasse / RuhrstraÃe roundabout will be closed to traffic on this day (from 9 am to 8 pm). The retailers lure with various activities on Sunday for relaxed shopping.
So there is a lot of information about the car from the car expert JÃ¶rg KnÃ¶pel on the GTÃ vehicle inspection center and the SV office Grenzda up to an engineer for automotive engineering. Also in attendance are the ACE Automobile Club and Auto Parts Weather. An information booth of the Westfalenpost and Cruse-Fashion complete the offers. La Bottega offers Italian grilled sausage with rolls, rice balls (Arancini) and pizza pockets, while Zur Quelle has grilled specialties and home-made salads on the menu.
Adelkind, the wine shop Christho and the bookshop Draht await guests in the Bismarck quarter. The Ev. Luth. Church celebrates its parish feast around the church on Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16.
For the little visitors there is a bouncy castle and a children's carousel on KaiserstraÃe. The A-Z idea box is active with face painting on the station square. The Kinderschutzbund opens its doors in the Bismarck quarter.
In the Ruhrtal Center, the kids can look forward to creative balloon art by Ball-O-Nelli, shuffleboard and Flash Cups.
Incidentally, you can also win on June 16 at the auto parts raffle. This year, car parts have been hidden in the shop windows or cash desks of the participating stores. The letters on the car parts can be put together to form a solution word. The fully completed ticket can then be thrown into the Gewinnbox in the Ruhrtal Center. Vouchers of the Wetteran retailers await the winners.
If you do not want to go to the city center by car or by foot, you can use the citizens bus.
